1. Introduction
Jabal Studios L.L.C. ("Pathway," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Pathway mobile application and website at thepathwayapp.com. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our services. By using Pathway, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Authentication is handled through Supabase Auth.
Payment Information. When you add a payment method, your credit or debit card details are processed directly by Stripe. We never store full card numbers — we only retain a Stripe token and payment method identifier.
Task Data. We collect the information you provide when creating tasks, including task titles, descriptions, deadlines, stake amounts, verification type, and proof submissions such as photos, GPS coordinates, and Apple Health data.
Phone Numbers. If you select friend verification, we collect the phone number you provide for your friend or verifier. This number is used solely to send a single verification SMS via Twilio.
Device Information. We collect device tokens to deliver push notifications about task deadlines and status updates.
Usage Data. We collect information about how you interact with the app, including feature usage and app interactions, to improve the service.
Location Data. GPS coordinates are collected only when you select GPS verification for a specific task. This is a one-time collection for that task, not continuous location tracking.
Health Data. Apple Health metrics such as steps and workouts are accessed only when you select Health verification for a task. This data is accessed via Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission and is used solely to verify task completion.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and operate the accountability service, process payments and charitable donations via Stripe and Every.org, send verification SMS messages to designated friends via Twilio, send push notifications about task deadlines and status updates, provide AI-powered task suggestions through the in-app assistant, and improve the app and overall user experience.
4. How We Share Your Information
Stripe processes all payments and stores payment card data in compliance with PCI standards.
Every.org processes charitable donations, receiving 80% of forfeited stakes on your behalf.
Twilio delivers SMS messages for friend verification.
Supabase provides data storage and authentication infrastructure.
Perplexity powers the in-app AI assistant. No personal data is sent to Perplexity — only task-related prompts.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests.
5. Data Retention
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Task history is retained for record-keeping purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at founders@pathwayapp.com.
6. Security
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. Stripe handles all payment card data and is fully PCI compliant. Supabase provides row-level security to ensure data isolation between users. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. You may request an export of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at founders@pathwayapp.com.
8. Children's Privacy
Pathway is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
9. Third-Party Links
The app may contain links to external services, including charity websites and payment processors. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of Pathway after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Contact Us
